Dumbo view

If you want a really nice view of Manhattan you should take the metro to Dumbo and walk along the water, then walk the Brooklyn bridge back.

Metropolitan Opera house

I have been to the opera two times here in New York. Just being inside such a great building and seeing these amazing performers are something you remember for a long time. We bought the tickets while we were there, and though the seats we bought were not the best, just being there and experiencing a big opera on stage is something I would recommend. 

The stairs leading up to the area welcomes you in many languages. 

There are two really large paintings on the wall in the entrance hall. Right now I can´t remember the painter, but they sure are worth checking out. 

I sat in front of this fountain "people watching" in September 2011 during NYFW. The only famous person I saw was Olivia Palermo. I shot a few pictures, but then I lost my camera! Oh, well, she was smaller than I thought, and very thin, but just as pretty as I imagined her to be in real life. 

Anyway, this fountain is great. The water pressure changes all the time. 

Metropolitan Opera house is located on Broadway and 66th street.

New York public library

New York public library by night, and day. It is a beautiful building situated on 5th Avenue between 42nd and 40th street. Bryant park is at the back and there are small tables with chairs to sit down for a hot drink or a snack. The NYPL is also where Carrie in Sex and the city were supposed to marry Mr.Big

Brooklyn bridge

A great way to see New York is a stroll over the Brooklyn bridge. I try to tell myself that NY is more than Manhattan!! There are many great little shops in the streets not far from the other end of the bridge. 

New York from the top of the Empire State building

A great way to see New York is from the top of the Empire State building or the top of the Rockefeller building. Just be prepared for the queue..

Book signing at Barnes & Noble.

Monday September 13th I was sitting outside Lincoln Centre trying to spot someone famous when I was asked if I watch "America´s next top model". As a fan, I said yes, and I was told Nigel Barker was doing a book signing later in the afternoon at Barnes & Nobles on 66th st.

So around 6 pm I showed up, bought the book and waited in line for the book signing. Nigel Barker was really nice and his speach was both inspirational and a real self esteem booster. Just what I needed that day!

I got my book signed and a picture with Nigel Barker, but seeing as the camera is gone, it will have to do with a picture of the book and the man himself.

Barnes & Noble has book signings every week, and if you are lucky, maybe one of your favorite writers are signing just when you are there!
